There weren’t even 300 Spartans at the Boxing Day Mass tonight – just about 25 of us. We sheltered under Waterloo Bridge, waiting for some stragglers. We then set out about 7:30, heading east past the Shard and then across Tower Bridge and through the City. We seemed to finish at Granary Square where some went to the Grain Store and others hung out in Central St Martins.
The weather didn’t seem too bad. The roads were quite greasy though and my Brompton skidded on cobbles quite easily.
I left to head west in the rain with my soundtrack playing “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” and “Riders on the Storm”…

The best of the best, only the hardcore cyclists made it to Critical Mass tonight.
Cold and wet.
Lovely little mass that, bragging rights deservedly bestowed upon all who attended. Good to see some long-missed faces too.

Perhaps only five hundred people turned up this July, two or three sound systems. Good sound systems. Many put off by the day’s constant rain, others were away. As usual for a July-August ride there were quite a few joining for the first time, often tourists. Continue reading →
Druid Cycles is coming with an improved more noisy sound system to the CM on Friday. We have an issue, we did also experienced in the past. The Mass is riding fast, sometimes splitting into 3 or more sections and our sound system is unable to catch up and we have to pull out and go home early. Maybe this message will reach a few riders and it would be nice, to ride with a less fast ride, which stays together for the lengths of the ride.
